Agnes 24
The Agnes 24* (Name to be decided) is a race to complete as many circumnavigations of the Island of St Agnes within 24 hours. This huge challenge can be taken on solo, or as part of a team of up to six members.
St Agnes is an island with a coast path of about 5km. The course will pass through the beautiful St Agnes community centre which will be our base for the weekend. Some of the coast path is hilly and technical, while other bits a bit simpler.
Runners will start at 1500 on Friday 11th September, enjoying 4 hours of daylight before the sun sets then enjoying the night sounds and atmosphere by torchlight until the daylight returns 12 hours later. They will enjoy the remaining 8 hours before they are asked to stop!
This ‘running party’ has something for everyone, from those who have never run in the dark before, to those who would like to complete their first marathon, taking time to rest and sleep, to groups of friends coming to share an adventure together, to those who want to see how far they can go.
Whether you are here to run 2 or 20 laps, this race will welcome you and celebrate you!
(This course is shorter and flatter than Bryher, I think a solo runner could exceed 100miles, and a team may even get to 250km)

The Logistics
The event starts at the community center on St Agnes at 1500 on Friday 11th September. The community center is a great space with room to sit and relax as well as lay a sleeping bag down for a quick nap between loops. There is a kitchen and toilets there too. 400m along the track is St Agnes campsite. If you wish to stay on St Agnes for the weekend or more contact the campsite directly. If you are staying for the minimum of 3 nights there are options to have a fully set up bell tent with everything you need, or just simply a bell tent with good sleeping pads. If you are staying elsewhere you can just grab 40winks within the warmth and shelter of the centre if you need it.
